Women-Only Gym in Washington: What to Expect on Your First Visit

If you've ever stood outside a gym and turned round before going in, you're not alone. Most of the women who join strongher Studio tell us the hardest part was the door. So here's exactly what happens when you visit a women-only gym in Washington for the first time, with nothing left to guess.

Why choose a women-only gym?

A women-only gym takes away the things that put most people off: rows of machines nobody explains, people watching, and the feeling that everyone else knows what they're doing. strongher is a small studio, women only, where most members started as complete beginners.

  • No one watching or judging what you lift

  • Small classes, so your coach knows your name

  • Beginners are the norm, not the exception

Step 1: Book a free look around

Before you commit to anything, come and see the studio. Book a free look around through our contact page and one of the team will show you the space, talk you through the classes and answer your questions. There's no sales pitch and no pressure to sign up on the day.

Step 2: Pick a beginner-friendly class

Our timetable has classes for every level, from gentle Pilates to strength sessions. If you're new, we'll point you towards the ones that suit you. Every exercise has an easier version, and your coach will show you how to do each move safely.

Step 3: Your first session

Wear something comfortable, bring a water bottle and arrive ten minutes early. That's it. You don't need any kit or experience. Your coach will introduce you to the group and keep an eye on you throughout.

Step 4: Find the membership that fits

Once you've tried a class, choose a membership that works around your week. There's no joining fee and you can cancel any time. Compare the options on our pricing page.
